Since a young age, Christina has been involved in fitness and strength training. At the age 20, Christina transitioned into competitive strength training and won the Powerlifting Jr. Nationals two years in a row. She was a Junior National and American record holder in the Deadlift (two different categorizes) and has had multiple Junior CA state records in the 132 lb weight class. During this time, Christina also trained with the Stanford Weightlifting team on the weekends. Christina has always been greatly drawn towards the athleticism of Olympic Weightlifting, and after age 23, began her dynamic and challenging Olympic Lifting training. Christina then began training at the UCLA athletes’ facility, as her then husband was a Strength and Conditioning Coach there. By being around top-level international and national athletes who train there all year round, Christina gained additional experience in a top-notch instructional facility, which was very rewarding and motivating. After a few years, Christina continued her training at Golds Gym in Venice, CA.
Through her vast training experiences including great coaches at Stanford, UCLA, and her former husband; (plus a million hours of practice and trying every program known to man), Christina was able to easily create her own "best of breed" programming, utilizing the most effective strength training cycles. Christina alternated between powerlifting and olympic lifting competitions, and found that each one helps the other, but you can’t get good at both at both during the same cycle. When Christina turned 30 she stopped competing, (as planned), and just had fun doing body-building training for a while. Christina also has a beautiful 10-month-old daughter and enjoys spending as much time as possible with her:)
After a brief rest, Christina has transitioned back into Olympic Lifting and looks forward to sharing her knowledge with the CrossFit 580 and Barbell 580 community.Credentials/Experience:
