U.S. Army Staff Sergeant Jeremy “Doyle”, 24, was killed in action on August 18, 2005 when a remote-operated improvised explosive device was detonated beneath his HMMWV at the completion of a mine assessing mission in Samarra, Iraq. Doyle was Cavalry Scout assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 69th Armor Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division based out of Fort Stewart, Georgia.
Doyle is remembered most for his fun-loving spirit and quick-witted sarcasm, but also his ability to lead, and the immense pride he held in his job, his country and his family. Doyle is survived by his wife Leah.
