Least favorite movement: Box jumps and Rowing.
Tell us about your fitness/lifestyle background: I have always been an active person. I began taking dance lessons in a studio as a young child. I played Volleyball from 6th-10th grade and played soccer all through High School.
How did you first get exposed to CrossFit 580: My husband Kevin was the first to join and I had no interest because I was intimidated by the workouts. I had my first trial class with Joy and it was exciting, challenging and I wanted to puke. I joined right after that class.
What have you seen in your body, health, and fitness since starting CrossFit 580: I feel stronger overall. My first deadlift PR was 145lbs and it’s now 235lbs. I have learned more about nutrition and how to fuel my body with healthy foods.
What changes in your life have you experience from CrossFit 580 that were totally unexpected? I love going to class and lifting weights. The progress I have seen is really incredible. I feel stronger after each class. The people I have met through CrossFit 580 make every hard work out a little better, because they believe in me.
What are your hobbies, interest and/or talents outside of CrossFit 580? I love spending time with my family.
Any advice for people just getting started? It’s the best, hardest, most awesome thing you can do. Do it!
