Tell us about your fitness/lifestyle background:
High school was the golden era of physical activity. I used to be in cross country, track and field and Lacrosse. However, that was over 10 years ago and since then I’ve only dabbled shorts spurts of New Year resolutions revolving around starting again. CrossFit580 is the first time I am taking my fitness seriously, I suppose.

How did you first get exposed to CrossFit 580?
I was browsing the internet for local bootcamp group fitness options. Came across CrossFit580 and noticed it was less than a mile away from my house. A match made in heaven.

What have you seen in your body, health, and fitness since starting CrossFit 580 (before/after)?
Right before bootcamp I was at my heaviest weight ever: 199lb. I didn’t want to be a newlywed and continue this trend so made it a goal to join a bootcamp. It was pretty early on in bootcamp that I noticed huge improvements in my endurance. More importantly I started to feel comfortable in my own skin. 9 months later, going to class feels like a normal daily activity. The workouts are still challenging and I’ve come to terms that being sore is the new norm but the results are really showing. My arms now have defined muscles and pants are all loose. Looking forward to what the next 9 months will bring.

Please share with us any favorite CrossFit 580 moments:
My favorite moment is when coach Kaitlin finally gave me the opportunity to pick a song for the group to workout too. Never seen someone so disappointed in music choice. She had let me pick twice and now refuses my music recommendations:)

What are you hobbies, interests and/or talents outside of CrossFit 580?
I tend to keep acquiring hobbies but my main ones are beekeeping, metal fabrication, welding, embroidery sewing, arduino programming and playing synthesizers (lots of synthesizers). I recently created and fabricated the new custom CrossFit 580 reception desk. 

Any advice for people just getting started?
CrossFit580 is a great place to dip your feet into the CrossFit world. Everyone is super supportive and the staff is beyond amazing. It truly feels like you are surrounded by good friends.
