Tell us about your fitness and/or lifestyle background:
Before I started at Crossfit580, I tried P90x and it worked somehow but I had a problem with plateau and muscle loss. Then I haven’t worked out for 3 years due to school and a new career as a vocational nurse. I sometimes go to the gym but I really had no motivation.
How did you first get exposed to CrossFit 580? Take us back to your first workout… what was it, and how did it feel?
I was told about Crossfit from a friend of mine at work and I looked up Crossfit580 from Yelp, since she was actually doing Crossfit at Dublin/San Ramon area and it was too far for me.
My first workout was with Coach Steve and his unforgettable “Pachan Workout”, and it felt like it was really not a good idea for my Day 1 class. I really felt dizzy and out of breath from all the wall balls and rowing. But I was very thankful that I finished the workout even though I was the last one left. I dropped dead weight on my bed when I got home.
What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since starting CrossFit 580? (before/after)
I have lost a lot of weight since I started from 185 and now 170 pounds. (15lbs of fat shredded!). My body is leaner and I really feel that my body is lighter and stronger. Running (which I really hate doing) feels better over time. It really helped me with my snowboard learning. I can’t believe that I am doing carving in the slopes and I didn’t really get tired that much even I was snowboarding the whole day. Back then I can’t even catch my breath with just strapping myself into my snowboard.
What changes in your life have you experienced from CrossFit 580 that were totally unexpected?
Crossfit580 changed me for the better not just only by losing weight but I feel more confident about myself. Working out in the class made me push and work harder than I ever did before. This is probably the best shape I have ever been in my life.

The favorite moments I had with Crossfit580 was the moment that people supported me on my first few weeks that I started. Everyone was very supportive, encouraging and welcoming. Even up to this date, it never changed.
What are your hobbies, interests and/or talents outside of CrossFit 580?
I love snowboarding, hiking, biking and I won’t deny of course drinking with friends. I also love doing road trips and fixing up my car.
Any advice for people just getting started?
Try it out and see. Don’t give up! You yourself know why you started, you want to be better with everything. Be more confident about yourself and set goals. If I can do it, you surely can do it too! Wake up, Crossfit, Eat, Sleep, REPEAT!
