 Bench Press and Running

Least favorite movement:
  Burpee’s over anything

Tell us about your fitness/lifestyle background: 

I was some what active during high school, but most of that came from riding a skateboard. After high school I joined the best branch the military has to offer, the U.S. Army, which is were I learned to love running, as we ran almost every day during our fitness training. I wouldn’t say that I was super fit while in the Army, but mentally tough enough to continue any fitness challenge thrown my way. during deployments when running wasn’t an option, lifting become the next best thing, so then there was that awkward balance of being to heavy to run. Upon returning to the states, lifting went out the window and we were back to running.


How did you first get exposed to CrossFit 580?

 I started crossfit 6 months before joining the 580 crew. I felt like I was looking to get more out of crossfit, at the same time, something closer to Las Positas College. I could not have landed at a better gym, felt like I struck gold.

What have you seen in your body, health, and fitness since starting CrossFit 580 (before/after)? 

 I’ve become more fit for sure. I feel more challenge through the programming. The coaches know exactly what their talking about and have guided me to success and achieving new goals, like getting my first muscle up on bar and rings to doing a pistol. My PR’s only continue to grow.

Please share with us any favorite CrossFit 580 moments:

I can’t say that I have one favorite moment, but that the 6am class is the best class of the day. We all motivate and challenge each other.

What are you hobbies, interests and/or talents outside of CrossFit 580?

Riding my motorcycle outside the city and away from any traffic is definitely one of my favorite things to do. I’ve also been big on running Spartan races, as i’m going after my first Trifecta this year. Snowboarding during the winter and do a little trail running. I plan to go surfing for the first time for my bday🏄.

Any advice for people just getting started?

DRINK THE KOOLAID!!!!! Honestly, the best decision I’ve made and I’m in the best shape of my life, thanks to all the coaches and members of Crossfit 580.
